Current Project

Thyagarajan’s current book project explores historical visual representations of diplomatic encounters. The monograph will investigate the employment of art as an integral instrument of statecraft by Asian polities from the thirteenth to the eighteenth centuries. Her research interests include the intersections of art and cultural diplomacy, cultural policy, postcolonial museum histories and the evolution of exhibition culture.
